Etiquette training will cover topics such as how to respectfully interact with parents, friends, and others, formal table manners, social media etiquette, manners in public places, becoming a person of noble character, being a good guest and a host, interview etiquette and skills, dress codes, and conversation skills.
Dance instruction includes new steps for the Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Swing, and Salsa, in addition to fun line dances. The Grand Spring Ball with Instructional Dinner provides students with an opportunity to practice the skills, etiquette, and dance steps that they have learned in a unique and exciting social situation.
The Eighth Grade Premiere Program is open to new and returning 8th grade students and 9th grade students who may have missed a season. We will be building upon the etiquette skills learned in Junior Cotillion classes. The program gives the students the opportunity to go out into the community and practice their skills!
The eighth grade schedule will be made up of classes and social events. Social events will be determined by what is available and in keeping with CDC and state guidelines to ensure the safety of our students. The students will participate in such activities as a restaurant outing to practice ordering from a menu and dining-out etiquette, classroom time with international and business etiquette guidelines, and a Grand Ball with a 5-course dinner.
The setting will encourage children to be comfortable together, to make new friends and enjoy themselves. Through role-playing, hands on experience and storytelling in a peer group, young ladies and gentlemen are expected to leave the program with the beginning of confidence and poise that comes from knowing the proper thing to do. Classes will cover topics such as manners in the home, being introduced, paying and receiving compliments, birthday party etiquette, and basic table manners. Classes will cover topics such as greetings, rules of introductions, sports etiquette, fast food etiquette, correspondence the thank you note and the RSVP , more advanced table manners, and a basic line dance.
Pre-Cotillion classes are hosted during the month of June. Parents select in which session they would like for their child to participate for three consecutive days.
