The most common recessed floor mat with logo designs are the Piazza and SandTrap Inlay recessed mats. Some people prefer to flock or dye their logo into a Cocoa Mat for use as a recessed floor mat. Something we are experimenting with is the implementation of logos into the aluminum recessed floor mats. They are available with several tread types for indoor or outdoor recessed floor mat applications. Depending upon the overall matting system in use, this will determine which insert tread type is optimal for your entrance.

The threats of lawsuits have forced each foot grille manufacturer to alter the design of their floor matting to avoid any patent infringement issues. One of the design elements that is often altered is the width of the carpet insert. Most of the carpet inserts slide in a track formed during the extrusion process of the foot grille.

These tracks hold the insert in place but allow the insert to slide back and forth within the track. The insert is then usually held in place with a pop rivet at each end of the rail.

Refurbishment with factory inserts is not a difficult process provided you properly identify the manufacturer of your recessed floor matting.

The bad news is that the inserts for one manufacturer usually will not fit into the foot grilles of another manufacturer. This will allow the mat to lie perfectly flat and avoid rocking. Recheck all dimensions Before the concrete sets, recheck that: The frame sides are straight The frame corners are at correct angles so the mat will fit properly All inside dimensions of the frame are accurate according to drawing measurements If the frame bows inward, use spreaders inside the frame until the concrete is thoroughly set.

Manufacturer or distributor cannot be responsible for problems that result from improperly installed frames.
